In efforts towards encouraging the adoption of sustainable energy, Bank Rakyat in collaboration with panel suppliers solar is now expanding its offer of Personal Financing-i product facilities for the purchase and installation of solar panel systems.
The financial institution said in addition, customers can also purchase solar panels through the Credit Card-i services, Chief Executive Officer of Bank Rakyat, Dr. Mohammad Hanis Osman commented “this initiative is one of its efforts to help drive the country’s transition to a clean energy economy, in line with the aspirations of the Blueprint Sustainability that is formulated through the strategic plan of Bank Rakyat 2025 (BR25).”
According to Dr. Mohammad Hanis, through this initiative Bank Rakyat will cooperate with five supplier companies, including Voltago Solar Sdn Bhd, Green Energy Generation Sdn Bhd, UZMA Enviroenergy Sdn Bhd, Suria Infiniti Sdn Bhd, and Voltek Energy Sdn Bhd to facilitate the process of purchasing and installing solar panel systems in homes.
The bank has created a Shariah-compliant financial facility to encourage the use of green energy in the community, Bank Rakyat also offers i-Vehicle Financing for purchases of hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, electric vehicle battery-based including fuel cell electric vehicles. House buyers can also seek the bank’s services like the Housing Financing-i for purchasing of properties or residences that are recognised as green building status (green building) from the Green Building Index (GBI) or GreenRe.
