Bursa Opens Higher On Positive Sentiment From Wall Street And China

Bursa Malaysia opened higher on Monday (Jan 30) morning, fuelled by the positive sentiment on Wall Street last Friday and China’s economic recovery theme.

At 9.05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) added 3.31 points to 1,500.86  from Friday’s close of 1,497.55.

The key index opened 2.2 points higher at 1,499.75.    

On the broader market, gainers led decliners 199 to 116, while 280 counters were unchanged, 1,623 untraded, and 54 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 217.47 million units worth RM74.7 million.
