FBM KLCI Skidded 0.26% Following Negative Cue of Wall Street

In line with the performance of regional peers, Bursa Malaysia extended it losing streak and ended the Thursday morning trading session in negative territory with the benchmark index FBM KLCI retreated 3.81 points or -0.26% at 1,466.94.

The Wall Street overnight performance tumbled as investors re-assess corporate earnings and the direction of the interest rate.

At 9:00 am, the main index opened unchanged at 1,471.30 vis-a-vis yesterday’s close of 1,470.75.

During the morning trading session, the index was traded in the range of 1,463.75 – 1,471.30.

Meanwhile, on the broader market exhibited negative breadth with decliners outnumbered gainers 493 to 276, while 401 counters were unchanged.

Trading volume and value were registered at 1.913 billion units and RM997 million respectively.

Top five active counters for the morning session My EG Services, Zen Tech International, Hong Seng Consolidated, SMTRACK, ATA IMS.

Top five gainers were Ayer Holdings, DKSH Holdings, Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia, Seremban Engineering, Chin Hin Group.

Whilst top five decliners were British American Tobacco, PETRONAS Dagangan, Chin Tek, Heineken Malaysia, Fraser & Neave.
