Sime Darby Plantation has appointed Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan as its new non-independent non-executive Director effective 17 February.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Employees Provident Fund and has more than 25 years of corporate experience, beginning his career with the Shell Group of Companies before serving as CEO for MISC Berhad, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, PETRONAS Lubricants International (while simultaneously serving as the Vice President for Downstream Marketing), Icon Offshore Berhad, Themed Attractions Resorts and Hotels Sdn Bhd (Khazanah Nasional Berhads subsidiary) and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
Datuk Seri Amir holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management (majoring in Finance and Economics) from Syracuse University.
