Pertama Digital Proposes Budget 2023 To Invest In Telemedicine And Rural Connectivity

CEO of Pertama Digital Berhad shares his Budget 2023 wishlist which among others focused on the cost of living, healthcare, and digitalisation of the public sector.

Cost of living:

We propose that the government provides financial assistance to low-income families to help ease their financial burden. In addition, we propose the implementation of policies that promote the reduction of the cost of living, such as providing tax incentives to companies that offer affordable products and services.

Access to healthcare:

We propose that the government invests in the development of telemedicine solutions that enable Malaysians to access healthcare services from the comfort of their homes. By providing access to healthcare services remotely, we can help to reduce the burden on hospitals and clinics, improve access to healthcare in rural areas, and ensure that all Malaysians can access quality healthcare.

Healthcare innovation:

We propose that the government invests in healthcare innovation, particularly in the development of new medical technologies and treatments. This includes promoting research and development in the healthcare sector, providing incentives for the adoption of new technologies, and investing in medical education and training programs.

Public sector digital experiences:

We propose that the government invests in improving the digital experiences of public services. This can be achieved by providing incentives to companies that offer digital solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public services. In addition, the government should invest in improving the digital literacy of Malaysians, particularly those in rural areas.

Sustainable development:

We propose that the government invests in sustainable development initiatives that help to protect the environment and promote economic growth. This includes investing in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and green infrastructure. By doing so, we can create jobs and improve the quality of life for all Malaysians.

Education:

We propose that the government invests in education and skills training programs that help Malaysians develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century economy. This includes providing financial assistance for students, expanding vocational training programs, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities.

Digital infrastructure:

We propose that the government invests in the development of digital infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. This includes expanding access to high-speed internet, promoting the development of e-commerce platforms, and investing in digital payment systems.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs):

We propose that the government provides incentives for the development of SMEs, particularly those in the technology sector. This includes providing financial assistance, promoting the development of technology incubators and accelerators, and facilitating access to funding and resources.

Social safety nets:

We propose that the government invests in social safety nets that protect vulnerable Malaysians from economic shocks. This includes expanding social welfare programs, providing financial assistance to low-income families, and promoting financial literacy and savings programs.

Environmental protection:

We propose that the government invests in environmental protection initiatives that help to mitigate the effects of climate change and promote sustainable development. This includes investing in renewable energy, promoting green infrastructure, and developing programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
