Bintulu Port Saw Its PBT Surge 40.93% As Cargo Handling Picked Up

Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad achieved an increase in operating revenue by 8.63% to RM791.26 million (12M 2021: RM728.39 million). The Group’s Profit Before Tax was RM178.01 million for the cumulative period under review, a surge of 40.93% from RM126.31 million reported in the year 2021. Meanwhile, EBITDA showed an increase of 5.64% to RM449.06 million (12M 2021: RM425.07).

Revenue generated was RM582.35 million as against RM548.12 million during the twelve months of the preceding year. Samalaju Industrial Port generated RM164.24 million in revenue compared to RM136.90 million, whilst the revenue from bulking facilities was RM44.67 million as against RM43.37 million during the period under review. The Group’s Cargo throughput achieved 50.73 million tonnes, a rise of 7.60% which is contributed by the increase in handling cargoes such as general cargoes, gas-to-liquid, urea, palm oil, ferrosilicon, manganese, containers, aluminum, and manganese products.

Correspondingly, its Earnings Per Share decreased from 78.95 sen to 27.77 sen during the period under review. For the fourth quarter of 2022, the port declared a fourth interim single-tier dividend of 3.00 sen per share, which will be paid on April 13, 2023. The total dividend declared up to 31 December 2022 is 14.00 sen per share.
