Destini Berhad has announced the appointment of Dato’ Mohd Zahir Zahur Hussain as Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer.
Dato’ Zahir’s appointment, takes effect on March 1, 2023, and was instrumental to the Group’s financial and operational growth across its four core industries which are aviation and defence, energy, mobility and marine. He was on Destini’s Board of Directors as Independent and NonExecutive Director since October 2020 and Chairman of the Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and Risk Management Committee.
Currently, Dato’ Zahir holds directorships in Mycron Steel Berhad and University Malaya. Prior to that, he was also a director at Pharmaniaga Berhad, the CEO of Prasarana Integrated Development and Group Financial Officer of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, amongst others.
Dato’ Zahir carries a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, and is a certified financial planner, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a fellow at Chartered Accountants
Australia and New Zealand.
