Issues On CTPPP, Aid For Disaster Victims Among Focus At Dewan Rakyat Sitting Today

Issues concerning the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), aid to victims of disasters and offences involving Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act will be the focus of the Dewan Rakyat sitting.

According to the Order Paper published on the Parliament website, there’ll be a question from Che Alias ​​Hamid (PN-Kemaman) to the Minister of International Trade and Industry on the ministry’s stance on the CPTPP) which clearly has an impact on the country’s agriculture sector.

The question will be raised during the question and answer session, where there’ll also be a question by Datuk Anyi Ngau (GPS-Baram) to the Prime Minister on the current form and value of aid channelled to victims of natural disasters such as floods and residential fires.

Also the focus during the question and answer session at the sitting today is on the statistics of individuals who have been investigated, charged and convicted under Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act that involves obscene, inappropriate, false, threatening or nasty online messages, since 2009.

The question is by Syahredzan Johan (PH-Bangi) to the Minister of Communications and Digital.

There’ll also be a question by Datuk Seri Madius Tangau (PH-Tuaran) to the Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living about the increase in the price of meat such as chicken and pork and measures by the ministry to reduce it.

After the question and answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will resume the debate session on the Supply Bill 2023 at the policy level.
