Battersea Power Station has welcomed more than five million visitors and over 20 new shops, eateries and leisure venue openings, since the Grade II* listed building opened its doors to the public for the first time in history on 14th October 2022.

New openings include Jigsaw, Under Armour, ME +EM, Kiehl’s, Hackett, IWC, Swatch, Reformation, Pinko, Bimba Y Lola, Theory, The North Face, and many more.

More exciting brand openings within the historic landmark and on Electric Boulevard, a new pedestrianised high street, will take place over the coming months including LEGO®, MALIN+GOETZ, Office Shoes, Bloobloom, A.P.C, NOBULL and Bounce.

Since opening in November 2022, Battersea Power Station’s chimney lift experience, Lift 109, has transported visitors to the top of the Grade II* listed building’s northwest chimney to soak up the beautiful 360-degree views approximately 7,029 times, which is the equivalent of 18 marathons.

Battersea Power Station Development Company CEO Simon Murphy, said, “It was the aim of our shareholders to give the much-loved Power Station a new lease of life and to open it up for the public to enjoy. To have welcomed more than five million people down since the landmark opened has been a huge achievement and we look forward to welcoming more visitors throughout 2023 to discover the new stores opening, a greater food and drink offering, as well as lots of unique and family-friendly events.”

Battersea Power Station Development Company Head of Asset Management Sam Cotton said, “To have had lots of new brands setting up shop at Battersea Power Station in a challenging retail market, clearly demonstrates the appeal of this project.”

Battersea Power Station’s annual events programme has also proven to be a big draw for visitors since October 2022. From the ‘Festival of Power’ – a free five-day family-friendly event hosted to celebrate the historic milestone of the Power Station’s opening, which saw more than a quarter of a million people visit during the first weekend, to a spectacular series of Christmas community celebrations and London’s newest and only riverside ice-skating experience, GLIDE.

The third annual Light Festival returned bigger and brighter than ever between mid-January and the beginning of March with eight spectacular pieces of artwork, curated in partnership with Light Art Collection, on display both outdoors and inside the iconic Grade II* listed Power Station.

The riverside neighbourhood’s Spring Festival kicked off at the weekend and will be running until 16th April with an exciting line up of family-friendly activities including a free giant flower trail, Mobile Farm, face painting, a special visit from Colin The Caterpillar™, outdoor games and much more.
