Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur Embrace Ramadan With ‘Embrace’ Recipients

Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur hosted the hotel’s annual Embrace Gift of Life” Buka- Puasa dinner on March 31 after a three-year absence due to the pandemic. The Embrace Gift of Life charity program is an annual fundraising project initiated by the hotel in 1985. The program is a long-term commitment to raising funds through donations to provide medical funds for children suffering from congenital heart disease or hole-in-the-heart disease to undergo life-saving operations and post-operative treatments.

Over 270 guests attended, 40 children from Rumah Qaseh Ibu Orphanage home and seven children of the Embrace recipients and their families. The Buka Puasa was a joined celebration with fashion house Rizman Ruzaini as well as a host of celebrities and media friends.

Sachin Tyagi, Resident Manager at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, welcomed guests to the event. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the event and the hotel’s commitment to giving back to the community through their Embrace Gift of Life charity program. “The Embrace Gift of Life charity program is an important initiative for us,” said Tyagi. “We are proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families.”

The evening was a great success, and the children were treated to a delicious meal, a fun-filled evening of entertainment and the distribution of duit Raya.

The Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is committed to continuing its support for the Embrace Gift of Life charity program and other initiatives that help to improve the lives of those in need.
