300 Prospective e-hailing Drivers Receive Public Service Vehicle Vocational License

Minister Of Transport Loke Siew Fook recently completed the ceremony of Public Service Vehicle (PSV) vocational license handover for 300 prospective e-Hailing drivers.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is optimistic that by providing the following initiatives, it will solve the problem of lack of competent drivers in the public transport vehicle sector.

In general, the recipients of the PSV vocational license are part of 2,295 total candidates from Grab Malaysia, of which 210 people are from the disabled persons category.

This initiative is in line with the MOT announcement of two improvement matters involving the policy, namely the maximum age limit for the use of vehicles in the taxi class and e-hailing being extended from 10 years to 15 years, effective from 1 January 2023 and the improvement of the vocational license procedure with the cancellation of the theory test.

It is informed that those who wish to obtain a PSV vocational Licence can register at the nearest Driving and eHailing Operator (EHO) Institute available across the country.

It is important for e-Hailing drivers to have a PSVe-Hailing Vocational License from which the conditions and regulations set by the JPJ will ensure the validity and integrity of the candidate in the aspect of road safety.
