Ranhill Worley Secures RM210 Million Qatar North Field Job From Saipem Italy

Ranhill Worley Sdn Bhd a subsidiary of Ranhill Utilities Berhad has secured a contract from a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. of Italy to perform Detailed Engineering Design for two compression complexes associated with the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Complexes Project.

The contract of the award is said to worth approximately USD50.0 million (RM210 million) with the engineering design work is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2024.

The Qatar North Field is the world’s largest natural gas field and was awarded to Saipem for the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of two offshore natural gas compression complexes aimed at sustaining the production of the North Field, including two of the largest fixed steel jacket compression platforms ever built, flare platforms, interconnecting bridges, living quarters and interface modules.

Recently, Ranhill Worley was awarded the detailed design of topsides of the new P-82 floating production, storage, and offloading (“FPSO”) vessel for Petrobras Brazil, one of the largest vessels deployed in the Buzios field and also Kasawari carbon capture and storage (“CCS”) platform in Malaysia, world’s largest offshore carbon capture and storage.
