Supermax To Reshuffle Board After Another Director Resigns

In the wake of Supermax’s boardroom resignation including the boss’s daughter Cecile Jacyln Thai who stepped down after disagreements with the director, the rubber maker sees another board member resigning.

The company said it will shuffle its board after receiving advanced notice of resignation from its independent non-executive director, Ms. Sharon Sung.

The company said that Ms. Sung’s resignation is purely due to her personal commitments and increased workload in another public listed company and that she will no longer be able to serve on the board of Supermax after 30 June 2023.

With the latest development, Suparmax said it will take this opportunity to review and reshuffle its boardroom to align with its global strategy and forward direction. The Board said it will initiate a search for a replacement candidate who will play a part in enhancing that role. Further announcements will be made once a new member has been appointed.

The Board said it would like to take this opportunity to reassure its stakeholders that Ms. Sung’s resignation will not have any adverse impact on the company’s operations.
