CelcomDigi Terminates Share Subscription Agreement With DNB

Following the announcement by the Malaysian Government’s 5G rollout plan with Digital Nasional Berhad continuing with the Single Wholesale Network model till the end of 2023 and breaking the monopoly come 2024, CelcomDigi filed with Bursa on its termination of the SSA with DNB.

The signing was part of the negotiation the parties had with DNB back in October after being persuaded by the Communication Ministry and the cabinet, when the telco was offered a 100,000 new ordinary share in DNB and 291,566, 668 rights to allotment as part of the agreement.

Today, CelcomDigi announced that both DigiTel and Celcom Mobile have terminated their respective SSA with DNB effective on 3 May 2023, as the long stop date to fulfil all the conditions precedent under the SSA has lapsed.

CelcomDigi said the termination of the SSA is not expected to have any significant effect on earnings, net assets, and gearing of the group for the financial year ending 31 December 2023.
