KLSE In Negative Territory Midday

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session in negative territory on Wednesday (May 3), as weakness in US equities led to a cautious tone.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI had declined 0.45% or 6.39 points to 1,419.72, from Tuesday’s close at 1,426.11.

The benchmark index opened 2.21 points easier at 1,423.90, and moved between 1,415.47 and 1,423.90 throughout the morning session.

Market breadth was negative, with losers leading gainers 488 to 234, while 391 counters were unchanged, 1,126 untraded, and 19 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.21 billion units valued at RM713.27 million.
