The government is ready to declare a state of emergency following the hot weather that has hit the country.

However, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the matter has not been decided.

“Currently, the government is taking proactive measures and no longer (measures) to be cautious in dealing with hot weather,” he said at a press conference after chairing the Central Disaster Management Committee (JPBP) meeting at the Perdana Putra building, here on Tuesday (May 16).
