Besraya highway will be closed this Sunday, 21 May as the closure it to accommodate the 4,000 Malaysians who will be participating in the first leg of the IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge which goes along the stretch of the elevated Besraya Highway.
The 6KM and 13KM race categories will begin at the Loke Yew Toll Plaza all the way to Pandan Jaya with a curve at Jalan Istana and Salak Selatan before turning back to the toll plaza. The duo highway challenge is held in collaboration with IJM Corporation Berhad and Allianz Malaysia Berhad as title sponsors and Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of IJM Corporation Berhad’s Toll Division) as the venue sponsor.
The highway will be officially temporarily closed to motorists starting from the Salak Selatan Ramp at KM16 and Istana Link at KM S0.0 – KM S2.3 all the way to Pandan Jaya at KM 21.9 and Jalan Shamelin at KM P0.0 – KM P0.3 heading towards Ampang in both directions. The Besraya Highway traffic closure will begin at 2:00 a.m. and the highway will be fully reopened by 11.00 a.m. on 21 May 2023, Sunday morning.
In a statement issued today, Besraya Chief Executive Officer, Pn Wan Salwani Wan Yusoff said: “Alternative routes have been planned for the traffic diversions to facilitate the mobility of the local communities affected by the road closures along the Besraya Highway. We are working closely with the event organizer, other highway concessionaires and sponsors, as well as the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) and the Traffic Division of the Royal Malaysia Police Force (PDRM) to ensure smooth
traffic flow.”
The 5,000 participants, their supporters and spectators are advised to plan ahead and arrive early at the venue at Loke Yew Toll Plaza before 5:00 a.m. Thereafter, the roads leading to the starting line will be closed and runners, supporters and spectators will need to find alternative parking nearby.
