Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Resigns From MAHB After Less Than 1 Year

Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din who was appointed as Malaysian Airports Holding Berhad Independent non-executive director has resigned with immediate effect from the group, within less than 1 year of taking up the post in July 2022.

MAHB said upon his resignation Tan Sri Salim will also cease to be the Chairman of the Board Finance & Investment Committee and Member of the Board Procurement Committee. No reasons was provided on his abrupt departure.

Before joining MAHB he was with MRCB as the Group Managing Director and prior to joining MRCB, he was the founder and Group Managing Director of Gapurna Sdn Bhd. He was over a span of 22 years was built into a substantial construction, property investment, and development Group by Tan Sri Mohamad Salim.

Known as the pioneer of the green building concept in Malaysia, Tan Sri Salim delivered landmark developments to KL’s skyline such as Shell’s new international award-winning regional headquarter, Menara Shell at KL Sentral, and PJ Sentral Garden City, and other award-winning, green developments. He was also responsible for the development of the “Super Store Petrol Station” concept for leading oil companies, namely Shell, Esso, BP, and Caltex, and was behind the modernisation and re-design of distribution centres for Giant, the renowned hypermarket food retailer. He was also the Non-Executive Chairman of Giant Malaysia, Non-Executive Chairman of British American Tobacco (Malaysia) Berhad, and Chairman of the Malaysia-Pakistan Business Council.

Tan Sri Mohamad Salim served as Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission from 2010 to 2014.
