Bursa Moves Lower At Noon

Bursa Malaysia remained lower at midday on a lack of buying catalysts in most heavyweights as investors remained on the sidelines awaiting fresh market-moving news on the US debt ceiling.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dropped 2.99 points to 1,416.01 from 1,419 at Monday’s close.

The barometer index opened 0.68 of-a-point weaker at 1,418.32 on Tuesday morning.

In the broader market, decliners led gainers 424 to 253, while 379 counters were unchanged, 1,203 untraded and 14 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.31 billion units worth RM720.45 million.
