Water supply in areas in Klang, Shah Alam, and Kuala Selangor regions that were affected following the recent emergency repair works due to a pipe burst incident at Jalan Bukit Cerakah in Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor, has been fully recovered said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.
During that period households in the area were provided with water tanks as means of getting their daily water needs. However, the time taken to repair or the lack of alternative sources to divert supply is still mind-boggling for a country that gets abundant rainwater.
In a social media posting the state-run water agency thanked consumers for their patience and cooperation during this unscheduled water supply disruption period. But based on our report when the water cut took place, many netizens were disgruntled about the situation as such incidents have been taking place once too often. In fact, the story generated the highest view on BusinessToday this week!
With the state election, Chief Minister Dato Seri Amirudin Shari will need to expedite the grand water management project even faster before another major incident like this takes place.
On Monday, 99 areas in Klang, Shah Alam and Kuala Selangor were hit by an unscheduled water cut following a pipe burst at Jalan Bukit Cerakah in Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor.
The repair works due to the pipe burst incident was completed at 3am the following day and the water supply was then distributed in stages to the consumers’ premises.
