Banks, Telcos Pressure Bursa Lower

Banks and telecommunications counters pressured Bursa Malaysia to end the morning session lower.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell by 4.95 points to 1,378.06 from 1,383.01 at Thursday’s close.

The key index opened 2.81 points higher at 1,385.82, the highest level throughout the morning session, and subsequently hit its lowest level of 1,376.78.

The broader market breath was mixed with 385 gainers, 357 losers, while 400 counters were unchanged, 1,114 untraded and 27 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.09 billion worth RM924.05 million.
