The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi Awarded No. 1 Beach, Best Hotel Pool

The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi is proud to announce that they  walked away with two prestigious awards, Malaysia’s Best Beach or Upcountry Hotel and Best Hotel Pool at the recent Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023 recently held in Bangkok, Thailand.  Topping both categories, the resort was also ranked #4 for Best Hotels General Manager and #9 for Best  Hotel Spa in Malaysia.

The awards were organised by Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau, aimed at showcasing  and highlighting the best of hospitality within Asia. An established travel magazine, the nominees were selected  by an expert team made of Travel + Leisure’s editors and contributors from across Asia Pacific, with awards  determined by readers’ votes.

Zulkifli Rahman, Director of Sales & Marketing, attended the opulent ceremony and picked up the awards on  behalf of the resort.

“We are proud to walk away with these two awards, that really cement how The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi focuses  on providing genuine care and comfort to our guests, as well as our signature personalized service and stunning  facilities,” says Zulkifli.

“It was an amazing experience, to be among the top names in luxury travel and hospitality in Asia and be named  best in Malaysia, which is due to the efforts of all our Ladies & Gentlemen.”

“It is truly an honor to win not one, but two awards after two years without the awards ceremony,” says Ellen  Franke, General Manager. “With Horizon’s adult-only pool continuing to remain one of the most-photographed  spots in the resort with its panoramic view of the Andaman Sea, and Beach Grill’s family pool a firm favorite  for both new and returning guests, we hope that more travellers can experience all our resort has to offer.”

A Legend Reinvented

The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi presents an all-round cultural and leisure experience, that allows guests to immerse  themselves in a refined island setting, which marries Langkawi and Malaysia’s rich heritage, with a plethora of  dining options, activities and stunning architecture.

Once guests step out into the Arrival Lodge, a crimson-clad ‘Dayang,’ or handmaiden, greets them with a  refreshing welcome drink, ‘Pemandangan Indah’, comprising of coconut juice, calamansi and hibiscus, while  they savor the view of the million-year-old rainforest as they check in.

Guests will be able to soak up the island’s rich culture and beauty from their first moment at The Ritz-Carlton,  Langkawi. The Walkway of Wishes offers a warm welcome; a natural pond decorated with a red bridge,  inspired by the island’s mystical granter of wishes, Tasik Dayang Bunting ‘The Lake of Pregnant Maiden’.  Guests will be invited to write their wishes on a flat stone, which is then placed into the water for the wish to  come true, as the first of many special memories to be created during their stay.

Ensuring that guests are able to seek respite from the island heat, the resort boasts both guest rooms and villas,  with all villas home to their own private pool. Families can consider the extravagant two-bedroom Villa Kenari  or three-bedroom Villa Mutiara, which sleep six and nine pax respectively. Villa Kenari hosts the resort’s  largest private pool, while Villa Mutiara has two pools and one private beach.

All rooms are decked out with sustainable produced amenities by pioneering parfumerie and Maison, Diptyque,  placed in refillable bottles to reduce wastage, as well as exclusive, sustainably produced bedlinen by American  heritage brand Frette.
