The Ministry of Finance has allocated RM400 million for youths aged 18 to 20 or full-time students at higher education institutes who can start registering to receive RM200 credit under the eBeliaRahmah program from 8.00am on Monday, 26 June 2023.
“The government has allocated RM400 million for the eBeliaRahmah program under Budget 2023 which will benefit 2 million eligible youth. In addition to aiming to continue fostering a cashless payment culture among the youth, this also somewhat eases their financial burden. Furthermore, this is also an increase in e-cash credit offers compared to RM150 last year,” said YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance
Eligible Malaysian youth can start registering to receive RM200 in one-off e-cash credit with one of the three leading e-wallet service providers namely Boost, Setel and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.
This program is open to Malaysian citizens who are of 18 to 20 years on 2023 (born between 2003 to 2005); or have an active status as a full-time student at a higher education institution in Malaysia. In addition to RM200 assistance in the form of e-cash credit from the Government, e-wallet service providers involved have also agreen to provide additional incentives in the form of vouchers, cashback or rewards points throughout the duration of this program.
The eBeliaRahmah registration and claim period is from 26 June 2023 until 22 August 2023, while eBeliaRahmah credits and matching benefits from the e-wallet service providers involved can be spent ‘offline’ until 31 August 2023.
This RM200 credit can also be used at retailers/merchants who accept payment via the DuitNow QR code by using one of the e-wallets involved in this program, subject to authorized transactions.
