Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session higher amidst mixed performance by regional peers as traders remain cautious following the Bank of England’s 50 basis points rate hike, a dealer said.
At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 1.48 points to 1,392.37 from 1,390.89 at Friday’s (June 23) close. The key index opened 0.66 of a point better at 1,391.55 in the morning and moved between 1,389.99 and 1,394.3 throughout the session.
However, the broader market was negative as decliners beat gainers 445 to 251, while 387 counters were unchanged, 1,234 untraded and 40 others suspended. Turnover stood at 1.5 billion units worth RM657.86 million.
