Underground utilities and substation engineering specialist MN Holdings Berhad (“MN Holdings”) has secured an underground utilities contract worth RM11.2 million in AirTrunk Data Centre, Johor.
The Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Mutu Nusantara Sdn Bhd (“Mutu Nusantara”) received the letter of award (“LOA”) and acceptance from the main contractor Rentak Segar Sdn Bhd for its appointment as the sub-contractor.
Under the LOA, Mutu Nusantara will undertake the installation, testing and commissioning of 33 kilovolts (“KV”) aluminium cross-linked polyethylene (“XLPE”) and 132 KV copper XLPE single core underground cables and accessories from transmission main intake (“PMU”) Gelang Patah to AirTrunk Data Centre, Johor.
Asia Pacific and Japan (“APJ”) hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk had on 19 January 2023 announced its entry into Malaysia with plans to develop a 150+ megawatt data centre. Named Air Trunk JHB 1, the facility will be its first in Malaysia and ninth in APJ, taking its data centre platform to over 1.35 gigawatts of capacity.
The contract shall commence immediately and target for completion in Nov 2023. The LOA is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of the Company for the financial year ending 30 June 2024.
“MN Holdings had in October 2022 awarded RM22.5 million substation engineering contract to design, supply, install, maintain, test and commission 132KV and 33KV interim consumer landing station for GDS data centre,” said MN Holdings Executive Director Dato’ Toh Eng Keat
“In April 2023, the Company secured RM13.3 million underground utilities contracts for another two data centres in Johor. Inclusive of the latest contract win, MN Holdings has successfully increased its order book to approximately RM327.8 million, providing a strong earnings visibility to the Group for the next 2 years,” he added.
