The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission said it is investigating the statement of Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who accused the government of blocking access to his TikTok account, he even further noted that Malaysia is akin to North Korea.
The regulatory body which is under the Minister of Communications and Digital confirmed that no instructions were received regarding this issue. It commented that Social media platforms have community guidelines (Community Guidelines) which determine the actions that can be taken against any user automatically when available violations of the guidelines, or based on complaints from many people.
Such community guidelines set expectations, promote inclusion, and reduce content Harmful or ugly that can disturb harmony in the community.
