Ajinomoto Disposing Land For RM408 Million, Distributing Part Of Proceeds As Special Dividend

Ajinomoto Malaysia has managed to dispose of 6 contiguous parcels of land which the company no longer needs due to the relocation of its certain plants for a total sum of RM408 million.

This comes following the completion of the assessment and negotiation between Ajinamoto and the potential buyer, Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd which acted on behalf of the Board entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement with Paragon TSL Sdn Bhd.

Upon completion of the proposed disposal, the Board proposes to distribute part of the proceed of approximately RM128.89 million arising from the Proposed Disposal to all entitled shareholders of AMB at an entitlement date to be determined later by way of a special dividend.

The property was utilised by AMB as its corporate office and factory for the production of halal-certified Umami Seasoning. However, the Subject Property is no longer able to accommodate further expansion of the production capacity of AMB and AMB decided to undertake the Proposed Disposal. AMB has officially relocated its factory for production to Bandar Baru Enstek, Daerah Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and established its corporate office in Technology Park Malaysia in 2022.
