Port Of Tanjung Pelepas Wins Prestigious CIPS Asia Procurement Award

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) has bagged the Procurement Team of the Year for Small Organisation award at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Asia Excellence in Procurement Award 2023.

The recognition was given to PTP after its procurement team made significant improvements to its performance and culture resulting in increased effectiveness, influence, efficiencies, savings, or competitive advantage, PTP said in a statement today.

Chief executive officer Marco Neelsen said PTP had continuously reviewed and refined its strategic direction and initiatives to ensure sustainable growth via the implementation of several improvement strategies including inventory optimization, digitization/automation, and supply diversification.

“As such, this momentous achievement is a testament to their hard work and agility amidst the current challenging business environment of today,” he said.

PTP is a joint venture between Malaysian-based MMC Corporation Bhd and Hague-based APM Terminals. First established in 2014, the CIPS Asia Excellence in Procurement Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the procurement profession in Asia.

With over 140,000 members in over 100 countries, CIPS is the only royal charter professional body worldwide that offers a global professional certification and qualification in procurement.
