FTSE Bursa KLCI Futures Contracts Hits All Time High In Daily Trading Volume

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad announce that its FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures contract registered an all-time high in daily trading volume of 71,689 contracts on 27 July 2023.

The new daily trading volume all-time high for FKLI contract surpasses the previous record of 66,887 contracts registered on 27 May 2021. Furthermore, it said the open interest for FKL soared to 73,519 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 67,261 contracts on 28 September 2015. The FKLI provides exposure to the underlying FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (“FBM KLCI”) to both institutional and retail investors.

This historical trading volume record follows market optimism driven by the possible anticipation that the recent Federal Reserve decision to increase its benchmark interest rate might mark the final raise in the current cycle, as well as the recent launch of th MADANI economic framework.
