Bursa Closes Lower At Midday On Pessimistic Sentiment

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session slightly lower on Thursday (Aug 10), as cautious market sentiment continued to weigh on risk appetite.

At the lunch break, the FBM KLCI had eased 5.18 points to 1,456.85, from 1,462.03 at Tuesday’s close. The key index opened 1.67 points lower at 1,460.36, and moved between 1,453.37 and 1,460.70 throughout the morning session.

On the broader market, decliners led gainers 448 to 241, while 415 counters were unchanged, 1,183 untraded, and 12 others suspended. Turnover stood at 1.61 billion units worth RM791.86 million.
