OCBC Launches OCBC 90°N Visa Card Offering Travellers Points As Cashback

OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad has launched the OCBC 90°N Visa Card a credit card that rewards travellers with points that can be redeemed as cashback.

With every ringgit spent using the OCBC 90°N Visa Card, cardmembers earn reward points called Travel$. For every ringgit spent domestically, they earn 1 Travel$, with the rewards points increasing to 5 Travel$ for the same amount spent overseas. Other benefits include complimentary Plaza Premium lounge access at KLIA and klia2 in the first year and RM1 million in travel insurance coverage that includes death and permanent disablement.

According to Ms Anne Leh, Managing Director & Head of Consumer Financial Services of OCBC Bank, the return of travel in people’s itineraries along with the popularity of rebates and rewards makes the OCBC 90°N Visa Card a “must-have.”

According to the Global Travel Insight report from Visa, a full recovery is expected for the global travel and tourism industry three years after the pandemic. Asia Pacific monthly outbound travel was forecasted to match its 2019 levels as early as July 2023, the report states, which is about now. Overall, overseas credit card expenditure amongst our card members has also exceeded the pre-pandemic levels of 2019, and we continue to see strong growth in this category. The OCBC 90°N Visa Card is well placed to gain acceptance among Malaysian travellers,” she said.

OCBC 90°N Visa Card allows users to easily log into OCBC Internet Banking or the OCBC Malaysia Mobile Banking app to view their available Travel$ balance and perform a redemption as cashback on anything they desire – a key feature that will give cardmembers greater flexibility in redeeming their Travel$, as the redemption is not restricted to only certain airmiles, hotels or vouchers. All Travel$ earned using the credit card has an expiry date of 5 years, which is longer than the industry norm of 3 years. On top of that, cardmembers can share their complimentary Plaza Premium Lounge access at KLIA and klia2 with an accompanying guest,” she said.
