Iris Corp Issues Formal Letter To KDN Disputing The NIISe Termination

In relation to the Letter of Award issued by Malaysia’s Home Ministry awarding the National Integrated Immigration System tender to Iris Corp wholly owned and the subsequent termination order handed to the group in August, the company has issued a statement labelling the termination as unlawful.

The RM1.12 billion contract was terminated by the Home Ministry led by the Unity Government after Prime Minister vowed to reassess all mega contracts handed out by the previous administration.

In response to the termination, Iris Corporation board said that after seeking independent legal advice, the subsidiary had issued a formal letter to the KDN (Home Ministry) disputing the termination. IITS is of the view that the termination is invalid and unlawful and firmly disputes the termination as stated in the notice of termination. It said that will also take necessary actions to protect its interest and exercise its legal rights in relation to the NIISe Contract.
