Bursa Higher At Midday, In Line With Regional Markets

Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session higher on Friday, in sync with the upbeat regional market performance ahead of a key US jobs report later in the day which could influence the US Federal Reserve’s (Fed) interest rate decision.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 7.9 points to 1,459.84 from 1,451.94 at Wednesday’s close.

The key index, which opened 9.97 points firmer at 1,461.91, moved between 1,454.67 and 1,462.73 throughout the session.

However, the broader market was negative with decliners going past advancers 450 to 411, while 376 counters were unchanged, 1,089 untraded and 33 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.71 billion units worth RM1.63 billion.
