Maersk Plans To Establish Network Of Logistics Hubs In Malaysia

Minister of International Trade and Investment, Tengku Zafrul who was on a working trip to Singapore said he had met with Maersk the shipping company for a possible investment in Malaysia.

During his discussion with the top management of the shipping and logistics giant, the Minister stated the Danish company is considering establishing a network of logistics hubs through more than 10 strategic logistics infrastructure projects. My work trip to Singapore this time ended with a meeting with Maersk. The company encompasses the integrated logistics hub sector and is a global leader in shipping services.

Under the 12th Malaysia Plan, the government had emphasised the transformation of logistics services as it can support other sectors such as electricity and electronics, automotive, aerospace, and e-commerce.

Zafrul in his post of the meeting said the investment from Maersk will ensure better reliability and efficiency of transport and logistics services for Malaysia.
