Bina Darulaman To Partner Pumar Solar For Energy Projects In Kedah

Bina Darulaman via its newly established Renewable Energy Company is collaborating with Pumar Solar Power Sdn Bhd to jointly pursue solar-related projects, especially in Kedah.

BDB Group Executive Director, Raja Shahreen Raja Othman said this aligns with the recent launch of the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) by the Government of Malaysia which has established ambitious Renewable Energy (RE) targets of 40% by 2035 and subsequently 70% by 2050. Achieving these RE targets requires the collective support of every state in Malaysia and BDB, through the establishment of BDB Energy, is committed to leading the way in Kedah to ensure the nation’s progress toward a sustainable future.

The group said the collaboration aligns with Trust 6 of the Kedah 2035 development plan, focusing on “Environmental Sustainability” across BDB Group’s diverse range of portfolios.

“The Kedah State Government is taking proactive steps towards ensuring the success of the Kedah2035 development plan through the implementation of six strategic initiatives. Among these initiatives, a focus is on establishing environmental sustainability guidelines in development planning. In this endeavour, BDB Energy stands ready to play a pivotal role in helping the government achieve its ambitious sustainability goals,” he said in a statement here.

BDB new company will be looking to Electric Power Generation and Transmission, Renewable Energy Power Production, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC), Solar Development, Operation of Renewable Generation Facilities, Maintenance, and Energy Efficiency solutions.
