AFFIN ISLAMIC’s Commitment To Sustainable Finance Highlighted At 18th KLIFF

AFFIN ISLAMIC participated in the prestigious 18th Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum (KLIFF).

Themed “Harnessing  Islamic and Social Finance for A Sustainable Future”, KLIFF serves as a crucial forum where the  Islamic finance community meets to engage in insightful dialogues and envision the future of Islamic  finance. 

At the event, AFFIN ISLAMIC proudly showcased its support for the Association of Islamic Banking  and Financial Institutions of Malaysia (AIBIM) myWakaf initiative.

On 19 September 2023, AIBIM  unveiled myWakaf 2.0, marking a pivotal evolution in this initiative. This development exemplifies AIBIM’s unwavering dedication towards advancing philanthropic values and fostering shared  prosperity for the entire Malaysian community, particularly the underserved. 

CEO of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, YBhg. Dato’ Paduka Syed Mashafuddin  Syed Badarudin said, “MyWakaf collaborates with the State Islamic Religious Councils (SIRC) to  expand cash waqf collection channels while emphasising good governance, transparency, and  effective project management.” 

“Through the Solar Dome Dryer initiative (SDD) under MyWakaf 2.0, AFFIN ISLAMIC actively plays a  part together with other participating banks and SIRC to empower local communities’ economic  activities. The SDD initiative promotes the production of dried agricultural products through enhanced  hygiene processes and improved quality, thereby increasing the income of participating households,” he concluded.
