TNG Digital Sdn Bhd said it will maintain the status quo on DuitNow QR fees until further notice, this comes on the back of most commercial banks agreeing to waive the increase in fees from October 1 imposed by the service provider Paynet.
The cashless giant views the decision as being in line with the national digital inclusion agenda by offering SME businesses a reliable and cost-efficient digital payment method. However, it reiterated with a long-term perspective in mind, a reasonable merchant fee is needed to cover costs and investments needed by the industry to upkeep their payment systems which include cybersecurity and fraud prevention controls.
The group commits that no additional fees will be implemented for its merchants until the industry aligns and moves forward together.
