Asia CarbonX, OpenSys Partner In Offering Verification Of RE Solar Devices

Asia Carbonx Change Plt (ACCP), and OpenSys Technologies Sdn Bhd sign an agreement to provide registration and verification of small-scale renewable energy (RE) solar devices, specifically those below 1 MW, on the IREC registry

“The Services Agreement paves the way for ACCP to provide a seamless online platform for the registration and verification of these RE solar devices. This innovative online activity will become available to stakeholders starting from early November 2023, with online settlement set to commence in June 2024, followed by the launch of an online marketplace in September 2024.

Under this agreement, ACCP will take on the role of both market registrant and participant, while OpenSys Technologies Sdn Bhd will contribute its technological expertise as the platform operator. This collaborative effort will streamline the registration and verification process for RE solar devices, making it efficient and accessible to a wide range of stakeholders,” said Ir. Nirinder Singh Johl, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Carbonx Change Plt.

“This collaboration is set to ignite the renewable energy landscape, empowering SMEs, and other stakeholders to take full advantage of their renewable energy assets. It is a significant step towards a more sustainable and economically viable future,” added Mr. Eric Lim, the Chief Executive Officer of OpenSys (M) Berhad.

“The primary objective of this groundbreaking initiative is to empower Renewable Energy Asset Owners, particularly SMEs, by providing them with a platform to monetise their renewable energy generation into tradable Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) using the MyREC platform,” continued Ir. Nirinder.
