UMW Toyota Motor Revs Up With 8% YoY Sales Growth, Unveils Yaris IMP

UMW Toyota Motor ended September 2023 with achieving monthly total sales of 9,228 units (Toyota + Lexus), comprising 9,020 units for Toyota and 208 units for Lexus.

With this, the total year-to-date sales as of September 2023 is now at 76,511 units compared to 70,872 units for year-to-date sales in the same period last year.

This marks an 8.0% year-on-year rise in year-to-date sales for the first nine months of the year.

Toyota continued to reinforce its offerings for drivers in Malaysia with the introduction of the Yaris IMP to strengthen its position in the non-national B-segment hatchback market.

Featuring styling enhancements, new technology and a refreshed interior ambience, the new Toyota Yaris builds on the significant success of the preexisting model, which has sold over 60,300 units since its launch in 2019.

Reflecting the “Dare to Live: Amp Up Your Vibe” tagline, the Yaris IMP delivers joy and excitement to a Gen-Z audience looking for an upgrade in their status symbol, via two variants – the 1.5E and 1.5G.

Toyota also introduced its new Toyota MY app to offer an enhanced and more seamless digital experience to customers by merging the features of the Toyota Drive and Toyota 24Seven apps onto single app.

Toyota owners now enjoy a seamless and cohesive experience on the app, such as when checking vehicle info, making service appointments, requesting 24Seven roadside assistance, locating a Toyota outlet and more.

“To meet customer expectations of Toyota, we have continued to update and improve our offerings, such as the latest Toyota Yaris that reflects its tagline. The Yaris IMP is aimed at Gen-Z drivers who have strong appreciation for style, self-expression and social standing. From its stylish exterior appearance to the advanced technology coupled with Toyota Safety Sense features, the new Yaris offers enhanced driving comfort and peace of mind during every drive. In addition, our corporate philosophy of kaizen, or continuous improvement, inspire us to go beyond creating vehicles that meet driver requirements, and to also focus on elevating the overall Toyota customer experience and touch points, which we see reflected in our new Toyota MY app,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.
