Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim heads to Dewan Rakyat ahead of the tabling of Budget 2024.
He has left the Finance Ministry headquarters in Putrajaya at 3.30pm, after a doa recital at 3.13pm.
He was accompanied by finance deputy ministers Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan and Steven Sim Chee Keong as well as Treasury secretary-general Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican.
The Malaysia Madani 2024 Budget will be the second national budget tabled by the unity government under the leadership of Anwar, who is also Finance Minister.
The tabling of the Budget, which will begin at 4pm, will be broadcast live on local television and social media platforms.
In his Facebook post, Anwar said: “May the highlights of the Budget bring our economy to a greater height in facing the current global challenges and support the development agenda for the wellbeing of the country. Insya-Allah.”
