Four areas in the Peninsula recorded unhealthy Air Pollution Index readings as of 9 this morning with Klang in Selangor recording the highest reading of 155.
According to the website of the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System under the Department of Environment, three other areas that recorded unhealthy API readings were Seri Manjung, Perak (123), Tangkak, Johor (119) and Petaling Jaya, Selangor (107). A total of 54 areas recorded average IPU readings while 10 areas recorded good IPU readings.
API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51-100 moderate, 101-200 unhealthy, 201-300 very unhealthy, and above 300 is dangerous. The data is released every hour, based on 68 air quality monitoring stations across the country
