Will Selangor Table A Bigger Budget For 2024, Date Fixed For Nov 10

The 2024 Selangor Budget will be presented on November 10, said State Legislative Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San.

He said the budget tabling coincides with the state assembly’s two-week session.

“The budget for the upcoming year, to be presented by the Menteri Besar, aims to ensure the well-being and needs of the people. We are focused on approving this budget.

“During the session, additional supply bills for this year may also possibly be approved, in addition to each state executive council member presenting their respective portfolios,” Lau said.

Last month, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said next year’s state budget is scheduled to be presented in mid-November and awaits the royal consent of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

During the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget on November 25 last year, RM2.45 billion was approved, with RM1.25 billion for management expenditure and RM1.2 billion for development expenditure.

However, this year the situation will differ as they as the Minister no longer has 2/3 majority, the opposition will be giving the incumbent a hard time and question every policy or sure.
