API In Klang Remains At Unhealthy Levels

Klang was the only area to record an unhealthy Air Pollution Index as of 9 this morning with a reading of 156. According to the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) website, 48 areas recorded IPU readings at a medium level (51-100) while another 19 areas recorded good API readings which were less than 50.

API readings between 0 to 50 are categorized as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) while 300 and above are dangerous. The public can refer to the link https://apims.doe.gov.my/home.html to know the latest IPU. Last May, weather and climate authorities warned of more serious haze in the southern Asean region between June and October this year following a more severe and prolonged drought than usual.

Meanwhile, NRECC Minister Nik Nazmi was quoted saying the haze level should dissipate very soon.
