Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari foresees a slight delay in implementing the Raw Water Security Scheme (SJAM).
He said the state government initiative, which was developed to ensure no disruptions to the operation of water treatment plants in the event of raw water pollution incidents, will start in stages from December onwards.
“The SJAM process has certain approval issues and is expected to be delayed until December.
“But it is still ongoing on the ground, and the delay is sometimes due to the approval process from the authorities,” he said
Previously, it was scheduled to begin operating in stages by this month.
Amirudin also assured that upon completion, SJAM will immediately be ready to operate.
“And we can avoid any disruption because of the pollution, especially water pollution,” he said.
SJAM offers an effective approach to safeguarding the state’s water sources, ensuring its security and uninterrupted availability for its residents.
The collaboration involves multiple entities responsible for water management in the state, including Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, the Selangor Water Management Authority, and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd.
