MACC Arrests Director For Alleged Bribe To Expedite RM600 Million Subsidy Claim

MACC has arrested a company director for an alleged bribe of approximately RM17,000 expedite RM600 million poultry and egg subsidy claims since May this year.

This is according to a report by an English daily, quoting a source, who said that the director in his 40s, was detained around 6.30 yesterday at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Putrajaya while giving his statement yesterday (Oct 19).

The source had reportedly said that the director, who is also the president of a poultry farming association in Subang Jaya, had received over RM600 million of subsidy payments in five months.

The subsidy disbursement was said to be involving over 300 poultry farming companies producing broiler chickens and layer hens nationwide.

The director had been detained together with the director was a male employee in his 30s.

Meanwhile, the report also said that MACC senior investigation director Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hashim confirmed the arrestand stated that the case was being investigated under Section 17(b) of the MACC Act 2009.
