Hibiscus Petroleum Awarded 3 Blocks During UK Offshore Licensing Round

Hibiscus Petroleum’s indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Anasuria Hibiscus UK Limited says it has been offered awards of three blocks in the first batch of the 33rd UK Offshore Licensing Round by the UK North Sea Transition Authority on 30 October 2023.

The Licensing Round offered blocks in mature, producing areas close to existing infrastructure, under flexible terms of the Innovate Licence which enables companies like AHUK to define a licence duration and phasing that would result in the execution of an optimal work programme.

The blocks offered for award are located in Quad 15 of the Central North Sea, namely:

(i) Part Block 15/12: The block is located 8km from the Marigold Field and contains the northern part of the Kildrummy discovery. The southern part of the Kildrummy discovery is held by AHUK under Licence P2518.

(ii) Block 15/18a and Part Block 15/19a: These blocks are located 12km from the Marigold Field and contain the Crown discovery.

Hibiscus said the Kildrummy and Crown discoveries are potential tieback candidates to the common infrastructure provided through the proposed Marigold unitised development which is currently operated by AHUK.

The next stage it said is to receive further documentation from the NSTA in order to finalise and execute the Licences for the award of these three blocks.
