Hektar REIT Chairman Resigns

Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust has informed that its Chairman Hasli Hashim has resigned due to personal commitments effective November 1.

The group manages malls like Subang Parade, Mahkota Parade, Wetex Parade, Central Square, Kulim Central and Segamat Central.

Hasli Hashim was appointed to the Board in February 2022 and was subsequently appointed as the Chairman in 2023.

Hasli has over thirty years of banking experience. He was a Branch Manager at United Malayan Banking Corp Bhd (UMBC) and Pacific Bank Bhd before moving to OCBC Bank (M) Bhd to take the position of Head, Public & Institutional Banking in 2000. He then joined Malayan Banking Bhd (“Maybank”) in 2007 as the Head of Corporate Investment Banking.

At Maybank as well as Maybank Investment Bank Bhd (“MIB”), he was involved in Corporate Investment Banking, Client Coverage and Corporate Banking. Encik Hasli was part of various advisory teams in mergers/acquisitions, Initial Public Offerings (“IPOs”), fund raising (loans, bonds) both Islamic and Conventional. He was also a member of Group Credit Committee and Group Management Committee. Encik Hasli retired from Maybank in 2020. Encik Hasli currently sits on the Board of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad (“Affin Hwang”) as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He is also the Chairman of the Board Risk Management Committee of Affin Hwang’s as well as a member of the Board Audit Committee and Board Credit Review Committee.
