MYStartup NXT Heads To The Land Below The Wind For Its Next Stop

MYStartup NXT will make its fourth stop in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, after completing its third and recent engagement in Penang.

The initiative, in line with the Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER) 2021 – 2030 spearheaded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) emphasises the importance of a sustainable and inclusive startup environment to stimulate a robust economy and a brighter future for all Malaysians.

In collaboration with Sabah Creative Economy and Creative Centre (SCENIC), the Sabah pitstop will introduce insights from ecosystem leaders, networking opportunities and our special ‘What’s Up Grant’ session to share and advice founders on Cradle’s Invesment Programme, CIP Spark and CIP Sprint.

These grants, ranging from RM150,000 to RM600,000, are aimed at assisting early-stage technology start-ups in developing and commercialising their products in the market.

“Aligned with our aim to accelerate industries through entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and creativity, together with MYStartup, we aspire to educate, nurture and inspire more startups in Sabah. We welcome MYStartup NXT to Sabah and we look forward to continuing building one of the nation’s rising local startup ecosystems,” said Uliantie Sarjuni, Government Affairs and Lead, SCENIC.

“At MYStartup, we recognise that rising talents within the ecosystem do not solely originate from Kuala Lumpur. Therefore, we make efforts to collaborate with various state agencies to complement their ecosystem-building endeavours. SCENIC understands the ecosystem in Sabah, and we are pleased to work alongside them and other local players such as ELEVATE, UMS & POLITEKNIK SABAH, Sabah Net and UITM to ensure that everyone can benefit from federal efforts as well,” said Mohd Noor Hisham, Head of MYStartup Malaysia.

Whether you are a founder or not, all participating attendees, will have the opportunity to learn and be inspired by the first digital personality from East Malaysia, a local Sabahan, who was featured by Netflix for a nationwide-scale commercial.

The local influencer, who will only be revealed closer to date will be sharing on the importance of storytelling and his journey as a storyteller.
