EPF Has Allocated RM97 Billion For Domestic Investment In 2023

The Employees’ Provident Fund has allocated RM97 billion or 83 percent of the total fund allocation for domestic investment this year, said the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

Through a written answer in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday, the ministry said that from 2019 to 2023, the EPF has allocated an average of more than 80 percent of the Annual Fund Allocation to be invested in the domestic market. The Ministry added that EPF will continue to give priority to domestic investment by allocating a large portion of its annual funds to the local market including in the form of a money market at local banks.

Since its establishment in 1951, the total amount of EPF investment assets is RM1.082 trillion, as much as 61.4 percent of which is invested in domestic investments while the remaining 38.6 percent is in overseas investments, said the MoF.
