Fahmi: Madani Centenary To Go Nationwide For People To Know Of Govt’s Initiatives, Achievements

Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil said the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme will expand to every district nationwide to provide direct information to the people on those matters through the booths of the various ministries.

He said the programme is not an event nor a celebration or a festival but, instead, is aimed more towards the Madani Government’s day with customers as it was the best platform for the people to understand the policies, initiatives and achievements of the unity government.

“We will utilise this platform to increase public awareness of everything that we have done and bring benefits to the people.

“In addition, various other services are offered, including Digital ID. Visitors can register directly for their Digital ID at this programme,” he said yesterday.

Fahmi said visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase daily necessities at the Madani Mega Sale and RAHMAH Sale booths, in addition to counters being set up for them to settle summonses.

“And we hope they will return home with the awareness that the Madani Government has succeeded in achieving many basic things in its one year of administration,” he said,

He said they included raising the name of Malaysia in the eyes of the world, especially in its stance on the oppression of Palestinians, in addition to continuous efforts in the aspects of restructuring the economy, empowering the digital economy and controlling the prices of goods to ensure the country regains its status as the Asian Tiger.

He also said that the programme, which will kick off at Bukit Jalil National Stadium tomorrow, might not be easily accessible for those outside the Klang Valley. “Perhaps it is quite far for those outside Kuala Lumpur, so I have requested the information department to arrange a similar, smaller-scale programme in every district across the country,” he said, on the Malaysia Hari Ini programme on TV3 today (Dec 7).

Fahmi said the programme would involve all ministries, agencies and government-linked companies.

“Our booth will highlight the aspect of the digital economy, which is vital for the country’s economic growth. We will also address digital literacy issues, including public understanding of data security, scam prevention and secure transactions.

“This programme will also feature activities such as the Madani mega sale, Rahmah sales programme, lucky draws, counters to pay traffic summonses at a discounted rate and a career carnival,” he said.

Previously, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that the programme would not merely be a festivity but a means of reporting what had been accomplished.

The three-day programme, to run from 9am to 10pm, will focus on three components – the achievement showcase, the people’s touchpoint service and the people’s well-being initiatives – with the government expecting more than 200,000 visitors to attend.

The December 8-10 Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme will be the best platform for the people to see and understand the implementation of all policies, initiatives and achievements of the unity government throughout its one-year of administration.
